Call me first thing to make sure we have consents. I will have a retired hospice nurse who has taken care of patients at REM homes as well as the nurse and possibly social worker there. The staff says that their corporate office will not let them be interviewed or fotoed. WHy?????God only knows. Crazy. But they are excited to have you come. THe retired nurse has a son in a REM home and can speak about how meaningful their lives are and how great the staff is and what a great job they do with the disabled. I hope that works for you. I think that when you get there you will find a great story. Jes
Hi, Jes. It doesn’t surprise me that the corporation wouldn’t give permission. The bigger they are, the more cautious they are. They simply don’t want a lawsuit. Nevertheless, I got a good interview with the nurses, and Gloria just tugs at your heart. Thanks for setting that up. I plan — crossing fingers — to have a story in the July-August issue.
